A lipoma is a soft, doughy growth under the skin that can appear as single or multiple growths. It is usually found on the trunk and extremities. A small lipoma can be removed by your dermatologist through a small incision (smaller than the lipoma), and a larger lipoma can be removed by your dermatologist through a small incision or using tumescent liposuction (involving the use of a diluted solution of an anesthetic).
