We’re thrilled to announce that Lisa Baker has been promoted to Chief Product Officer at SkinIO. Calling Lisa a natural problem solver might be the understatement of the century. From navigating SEO and programmatic advertising to figuring out call center staffing, there are very few asks at SkinIO that Lisa hasn’t taken on. And it doesn’t take long to realize why just about every question has landed in her email or Slack thread for the past two years: “One thing my experience at SkinIO has made me realize is that, if you’re a naturally curious person, there’s enough available information out there that you can solve just about anything. It doesn’t mean you’ll be an expert, but you can teach yourself a lot. You just can’t be afraid to try. I really like that.”
Lisa’s new role has her more focused than ever on the intersection of the customer and the technology – “where functional meets friendly,” as she puts it. “I love working with engineering to figure out quantifiable metrics for a ‘successful’ product feature. We’re constantly asking, ‘How can this take less time, how can we explain this in fewer words, how can we make people like this?’” Lisa’s not a fan of the term “jack of all trades.” So perhaps the best way to describe the vital role she plays at SkinIO is Corpus Callosum – the nerve center that connects the right and left hemispheres of the brain and enables them to talk to one another. Lisa’s combination of level-headed rationality and deep empathy for customers and fellow co-workers helps make SkinIO’s product and culture what it is. Congratulations, Lisa – we’re so lucky to have you on our team.
